Early Morning Big Shots, Jr Boys and Deaf In The Family

No time to fool around...by the dawn's early light I packin' heat in the mp3 playa and headin' out de door to get downtown ...dammit.

Yep...Gotta get up for work, and even if I shower, espresso up & throw some cologne on, I never ever feel quite metrosexual enough to sound like this...

Junior Boys - In The Morning

perhaps I'll just Delete... and shuffle on... forget that ever happened...

I like to imagine that I got some pick up in my step & my normal morning routine might roll more along the lines of...say this DC Go-Go classic from one of the grittiest & funkiest, full on most demanding dancefloor crushing live acts EVER...

Trouble Funk - So Early In The Morning

but don't I wish it was also fresh like the way Missy & Hova doing it in this lil remix

Missy Elliot - Wake Up
( jakub breaks mix)

Although , as you know that's pretty unlikely, cuz when the white people try to get funky, or gawd forbid rap, it tends to get beyond a little weak...or even "gay-tarded"...

Magic Numbers - Crazy In Love

or maybe if I was going for the melodramatic, perhaps the fey pop

Come Ons - Another Day

But why dwell on the morning madness, when the night time is obviously the right time...

how about some nocturnally relevant noise eh?

My pal Doc just got back from his annual East Coast sojurn, and was turned onto some new sh*t... and now in turn I spread the good grooves & savings onto ya'll as well...

it's a mash up maven hip hop crew, and it's good for ya... and likely about as illegal as a beatsmith can take a tune these days. Good luck with yer clearances guys, in the meantime enjoy the mixes...

Deaf In The Family - Guns of Brooklyn feat. Scavone

Deaf In The Family - Southern Man feat Bavu Blakes

Deaf In The Family - Who Are You?

Speaking of mxing it up, the other day I picked up a copy of DJ Mike Relm's CD "Radio Fryer", and not only was it jam packed with mini-tracks of mixologist mayhem, it also had two discs. One copy is to share with a friend... so in order to facilitate that I'll share a couple mp3 tracks at least...

DJ Mike Relm - Relm & Josie With Attitude

Anyhow that's enough tuneage to choke yer lil hard drive for awhile... like Springer, I'm dropping some final thoughts and splitting...

Just read that Long Island's fave bald & bloated boozehound Billy Joel finally entered the farewell tour tease phase of his career. He was a helluva songwriter, overpaid for spells , but then lost it all due to bad management at least tice. Lately he brings out military guys for patriotic encores and likes to write symphonies and shit. I remember runnin' into him him one bleary eyed night a decade or so ago, he was drunk as a skunk & snortin' up a storm at a local bar with some floozy that wasn't his then super model wife Christie Brinkley... Meanwhile he missed Soul Asylum playing acoustic to an empty room upstairs...doubt he cared...

after all he was a Big Shot

Billy Joel - Big Shot

But here he is from his gargantuan Glass Houses heyday, and a couple clips takin' ya back to the hairy heights of early 80's skinny tie times. One of my fave 45's as a pre-pubescent New York state of mind rapscallion , "It's Still Rock & Roll To Me" a video with actual beer drinkin' !, and first up this great live clip from the Nassau Coliseum.
