Sunday Sunday Sunday Ska

Last night I got a belly laugh or two out of the expectedly stupid, but way funnier than I wanted it to be Will Ferrell flick "Talladega Nights". I guess because my father used to be a sportwriter forced to cover NASCAR & Formula One racing in the 1970's & 80's, it brought back some serious redneck culture cliches galore.

If ya like an old fashioned french gay guy joke or two, then uh, don't miss it ...

Headin' out the door here to go catch a free concert at Stern Grove here in SF. The deep redwood laden gully off sloat Blvd is home to ferns & fine fungal growths during the winter, and a lively events schedule during the summer months.

The concert series is an annual event and over the years I've been able to catch some great events featuring diverse performers from various filds whether that be medical professionals like like Dr. Guido Sarducci & Dr. John, or multi-cultural musician types like Michael Franti & Femi Kuti, or The Motown All-Stars.

This year has been no exception, with bills that have included Seu Jorge, Rebirth Brass Band and todays line up ... Ska Cubano & The Spanish Harlem Orchestra...

here's some tunes
